Educational Complex "Simha"

Jewish state educational complex "Simha" was opened in 1991 by Charitable Foundation "Shiurey Chabad Jewish Diaspora" (Israel) and by State Administration of Kiev (Ukraine). Kindergarten started its work in 1991, 1-4 grades department was opened in 1992, 5-11 grades - in 1999.  From September 2015, the school became the part of World ORT network.

Now Educational Complex "Simha" consists of 2 educational institutions:

1)         Educational complex with advanced study of foreign languages (Hebrew, English). It houses kindergarten and primary school (1-4 grades);

2)         Specialized school #325 “Simha”. It houses specialized secondary school for 5-11 grades.

About 300 children from Jewish families attend the Complex. 47 teachers work in kindergarten, primary and special school. Also speech therapist and psychologist are employed inprimary school.  

Alongside teaching the state curriculum, the school offers in-depth study of Judaism, computer technology and English. School specialists were the first in Ukraine to develop the program on Hebrew language; the program was approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and implemented into the school’s curriculum. Through the activities of Charitable Foundation "Shiurey Chabad Jewish Diaspora" the transportation is provided for students; there are 8 routes throughout Kiev and the suburb. Kosher meals also provided for all students of the school. Every half a year school is attended by undergraduates from Israel and USA; they conduct lessons on Hebrew, holidays and contests within the frame of the pedagogical practice.

The school organizes Shabbatonim in which whole families take part.  All the Jewish holidays are celebrated at the school, where pupils come with their parents. Also, at school run different clubs of informal activity, summer camp, program for women on Torah studying, "Kolel Torah"for dailystudy of Torah for men, lectures with the participation of well-known Rabies, Bar- Bat - Mitzvah in Israel.
